Family Business and Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is at the heart of every economy, with family firms making up two-thirds of all businesses in the world. In Alfred University's Family Business and Entrepreneurship minor, you will build upon foundation business skills with additional courses in legal and financial planning which are integral to the small business owner and entrepreneur.

In Alfred University's Family Business and Entrepreneurship minor, you will develop the skills needed to manage a family business or for success as an entrepreneur. In addition to these courses, you are required to complete an internship in a family or small business setting.

- BUSI 485 Internship
- ECON 201 Principles of Microeconomics
- LAW 241 The Legal Environment of Business
- MKTG 221 Marketing Principles and Management
Plus at least one of the following courses:
- ACCT 371 Personal Income Tax
- FIN 310 Introduction to Financial Planning
- LAW 442 Commercial Law
You must complete at least half of the course work at Alfred University and achieve a grade point average of at least a "C" (2.0) in submitted courses for the minor.
