International Student Found a Home in Alfred
Aanu was an international student from Nigeria who came to Alfred in hopes of finding the perfect place to focus on his studies. Aanu majored in mechanical engineering and physics with a minor in mathematics and was still able to maintain a social life. Aanu chose Alfred university because of its small size that allowed him to develop a stronger relationship with his professors and other students.
After Alfred University, Aanu Adeloye, aspires to enter the field of research and development, receiving his PhD, and one day becoming an entrepreneur. He has made a major step towards this path after receiving an internship working closely with RCare Inc., maker of nursing call and monitoring solutions. Aanu jumped at the opportunity after not being able to return home to Nigeria due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. He was tasked with testing their product which would “automatically send an alert to caregivers if a resident moves outside of defined safe areas.”
Alfred University emphasizes the importance of their students gaining hands-on experiences through internships and co-ops. The university works closely with alumni and neighboring businesses to provide the experiences necessary for students to strengthen their skills and be prepared for future success.
