Alfred University: "A Family Feel"
Mandy Skeet got "a family feel” when she first visited Alfred University. She recognized opportunities for academic exploration and success; she also met interesting people who she thought would make the next four years a productive, worthwhile experience. Her first impressions turned out to be spot-on.
An athlete and member of Alfred University’s women’s basketball team, Mandy has also used her undergraduate education to prepare for a career, majoring in Psychology and Childhood Education. It has been a lot of work and sweat, but also plenty of fun. “The athletics community is one big family and I just love to see each team grow and become amazing every season.”
And as she winds up her senior year – negotiating the challenges of the University’s transition to on-line teaching as a result of the COVID-19 virus – she has begun acquiring a perspective on what the last four years were all about: “My Alfred University experience was the hardest but most fun by far experience I’ve ever had.
Mandy aspires to become an elementary school teacher following graduation

My Favorite Places
My favorite place to hang out is defiantly GJ’s. Sometimes college can get stressful, but GJ’s will always be there for you to remind you it’s okay to be college student sometimes and just relax for a second.
I also love going to the Jet, especially when my parents are in town. It’s a great place to catch up and grab some good food. And honestly once you leave Alfred you start to crave the Jet a little bit.
